Snapshot of Yazmin

Yazmin 13 Jun 2009 09.JPG

Cheetahs filled my screen. The swift, silent movements of Cheetahs reminded me of my dog. However the Cheetah’s splendor proved no match against my dog’s.
My dog retains the name Yazmin; she is a German Shorthaired Pointer. Her age recently changed to 4. Two hazel eyes, round and beautiful, dot her wolf like face. Polka dots and some liver spots cover her glistening, white body. Attached to her slim body a dark brown tail wags back and forth. Webbed feet give her the ability to swim. A long with all that, Yazmin has a great attitude, she is a loving and loyal dog because she is happy to see us whenever and is always by our side.
I remember one day my mom wanted to mow the lawn. This was a great idea on her part because at the time the temperature was at about 80 degrees outside. Grass stood taller than a building before she started. Mowing is hard work, so it took a while. Beads of condensation rolled down when she was almost half way through. Exhausted, my mom put the lawn mower away. Anxiously, Yazmin waited to be let outside. She did her business as usual. Inside, my mom drank a glass of water and she sat down reading a book. Our dog was lapping up water and eating her food while enjoying the sunlight. On the trampoline, Yazmin started finishing up a dog bone. Sometime later we stopped watching her. Several minutes later mom went out to call her. At first mom thought she (Yazmin) wanted more time outside. Again she called out, no response. Mom exclaimed, “Have you guys seen Yaz…” She was interrupted by loud barks that sounded miles away. In front of our house was, you guessed it, Yazmin. Tongue lolling, paws shifting, Yazmin Stood up and trotted inside our house
For long moments we puzzled over how Yazmin got out. Suddenly it hit us,
Mom had forgotten to close the gate that separated the front and back yard!
